Apple unveils iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone

Apple has entered the foldable-phone market with the iPhone Duo, unveiled on September 9, 2026. The device opens into a 7.6-inch display and folds down to a compact 5.4-inch outer screen, giving users a phone-sized device that can expand into a tablet-like experience.

The Duo is powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip and features a titanium body, a precision hinge and a nano-texture inner display designed to reduce glare. Apple says the foldable also delivers all-day battery life through a dual-battery design. 

The device starts at $1,999, making it Apple’s most expensive iPhone. It will be available with 256GB and higher storage options, with storage reaching up to 2TB according to reporting. 

Apple has scheduled pre-orders for October 16, with the iPhone Duo becoming available on October 23, 2026.
