The West Park section of Boduthakurufaanu Magu will close one lane starting at midnight tonight as MTCC launches Phase 3 of the ring road widening and paving project.
One half of the road will be cordoned off for site preparation, while the other half will remain accessible to public transport. MTCC apologized for any disruption to commuters.
The first two phases paved the road from the fish market to Republic Square and extended it through to the North Harbor.
Meanwhile, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced on The Pulse podcast that work on the damaged MPL area will begin shortly. The road will be reconstructed alongside the relocation of the commercial port to Thilafushi, which is set to be fully completed by November 11, 2027, to resolve long-term congestion.
